Seven of the World’s top 10 on the Rolex World Rankings will be in the line up as Ayaka Furue returns to defend her title next week at Dundonald Links from August 3 to 6.

With new title sponsor FREED GROUP, a Hong Kong-based tech company a technology innovator, the new-look tournament matches its strongest field gathered to date with 17 Major winners boasting 26 major titles, 45 LPGA winners sharing a haul of 144 titles and 59 LET amassing 174 titles along with four past champions arriving in Ayrshire to compete for the 2023 FREED GROUP Women’s Scottish Open crown.

With the 2023 edition of the Solheim Cup less than two months away, it is no coincidence that 19 Solheim Cup players will be amongst the 144 players, each looking for strong performances to propel them up the qualification table in time to take their place at this year’s match at Finca Cortesin, Spain.

There are 31 nationalities represented in the field with local favourite, Gemma Dryburgh heading Scotland’s home challenge.

Dryburgh, who claimed her first LPGA Tour victory last year at the TOTO Japan Classic, is as excited as ever to get the chance to compete so close to home, commenting: “It’s absolutely my favourite time of the year when I get to play in the UK and the Women’s Scottish Open is, of course, one of the highlights of my year. Last year I was honoured to win The Jock MacVicar award as the leading Scot and I would love to honour his memory by finishing even higher this year. I feel like my game is in a good spot at the moment and I just need to keep building my confidence and I think the perfect place to do this will be with the support of my family and friends, playing on the spectacular Dundonald Links.”
