36 OLYMPIANS AND 18 MAJOR CHAMPIONS HEADLINE 2024 TOURNAMENT

Four tournament invitations secure their place in field

Entries have now closed for the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open, which is set to feature an impressive lineup of talent at Dundonald Links, August 15-18. This year’s field includes 36 Olympians, who will be representing their countries this week at Le Golf National for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The star-studded line-up also boasts 5 of the top 10 players, 18 major winners, 46 LPGA Tour winners with a combined total of 177 titles, and 22 Solheim Cup players with 53 appearances.

The major champions in this year’s field collectively hold 27 titles, featuring the most recent major winner and 2022 champion of the Women’s Scottish Open, Ayaka Furue, who secured her maiden major title at the Amundi Evian Championship last month. Other notable major winners include World No.3 Jin Young Ko, who won two majors in 2019; three-time champion Anna Nordqvist; Lilia Vu, who claimed two majors in 2023, the Chevron Championship and the AIG Women’s Open; Australia’s Minjee Lee, who holds two titles; and Canada’s Brooke Henderson, also a two-time major winner, who is making her debut at Dundonald Links this summer.

This year’s line-up features 33 players making their debut at the year’s ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open, including World No.9 Rose Zhang. Zhang captured two LPGA Tour titles and had three top-10 finishes in majors last year. This will mark Zhang’s first professional start on links golf.

The 21-year-old commented: “I am really excited to compete at Dundonald Links for the first time this summer. I’ve heard amazing things about the course and tournament, and I’m looking forward to experiencing the unique atmosphere of Scottish golf and Scotland itself. It’s going to be a great two weeks in Scotland, and I’m ready to take on all the challenges Links golf has in store.”

There are 31 nationalities represented in the field, with Scotland’s own Gemma Dryburgh leading the home contingent. The Aberdeen native won the Jock MacVicar Leading Scot award the past two editions.

Dryburgh added: “I love returning to Dundonald every year. It’s such an incredible week for me, with all my friends and family there to cheer me on. Competing in Scotland will always be special to me, and I’m hoping this year, come Sunday I will be in contention to win my home open.”

Invitations for the 2024 ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open have been announced, with four standout players joining this stellar field. Among the select invitees is Glasgow native Kylie Henry, a two-time winner on the Ladies European Tour, who will be making her 13^th appearance in the tournament, her best finish was a tie for 10^th in 2012. Laura Beveridge from Aberdeen, who won two titles as an amateur, has also secured a place and will make her second appearance after competing for the first-time last year. Additionally, Japan’s Erika Hara, a five-time winner on the JLPGA will be making her debut at Dundonald Links this year. Completing the quartet is 2024 U.S. Solheim Cup Captain Stacy Lewis, a two-time major champion who won this event in 2020.

The 2024 ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open marks the first year with ISPS HANDA as the title sponsor and will be held at Dundonald Links for the third consecutive year. The tournament returned to this venue in 2022 after a £25 million makeover by owners Darwin Escapes to transform the club into one of the UK’s finest golf resorts. It was also previously held there in 2015, 2016 and 2017. The Scottish Government and VisitScotland also continue to be long-standing supporters of women’s golf, with a strong commitment to the Women’s Scottish Open.
